There is a general and often non-professional debate, on the use of human cells in medical treatment. Usually, the emphasis is on the ethical and moral aspects of abortion - not on cell therapy itself. A variety of public and religious societies are putting great pressure on governments and authorities calling for a ban on abortions and cell transplantology studies and treatments in general.
Conversely, medical specialists have no doubt about the need to continue research on human cells and the improvement of the application treatment methods and techniques. Eighty Nobel Prize nominees sent a petition to the President of USA, this calls on him to realize the great potential of stem cell research and asks permission for further studies of the subject for the greater good of mankind.
