Application of stem cells growth differentiated factors by the treatment of diabetes
Application of pancreas stem cells growth differentiated factors to the patients with diabetes stimulates pancreas renewal and increase of sensibility of tissues to insulin. It is necessary to mention that application of pancreas growth factor in complex (prevention and treatment) leads to total normalization of glucose level in blood. It is connected not only with the renewal of pancreas damaged cells but also with the induction of stem cells differentiation.
The ability of short peptides to induce differentiation of embryonal tissue cells was established by experiments in 2003. By comparative examination of pancreas growth factor and tetrapeptide which regulates prostate function its tissue specific activity was established.
It is important that synthetic form of pancreas growth factor is not hydrolyzing in gastroenteric tract and is absorbed invariably without any influence on the activity of digestive ferments and can reduce glucose level in blood of elderly patients.
Partial renewal of insulin level of animals with alloxanic diabetes after injection of pancreas growth factor is very important since it shows renewal of structure and functions of own cells which synthesize insulin and production of new cells.
Pancreas growth factor is not toxic, acts in small doses and is highly effective for prevention and treatment of diabetes 1 and 2.
Examination of application was carried out on 36 patients aged 16-83 (7 men, 29 women). 23 patients had diabetes type 1, 13- type 2. The duration of illness was 1-30 years. 32 patients received insulin. Most patients with diabetes type 1 came to the hospital in the stage of decompensation. Glucose level in blood on an empty stomach was 9,5-27 mol/l; level of glycosylized hemoglobin - 7,8-12,7%. Strict diet was prescribed for all patients. All the patients were divided into 2 groups equal by age, sex, duration and severity of disease by the method of stratific randomization. In addition to standard treatment pancreas growth factor in the dose of 10 mkg (in 1 ml of 0,9% NaCl solution) intramuscularly daily for 10 days was prescribed to 16 patients with diabetes. Pancreas growth factor in the dose of 100 mkg (1 pill) 2 times per day before meal for 10 days was prescribed to 4 patients with diabetes type 2 in addition to standard treatment. Patients of control group received 1 ml 0,9% NaCl solution as placebo according to the same scheme.
The results of the examination showed, first, total absence of any side effects during injection of pancreas growth factor and 3-6 months after its finishing. The patients had improvements in coagulogram indices, increase of natural anticoagulants content and increase of fibrinolytic blood activity.
10 patients (from those 16 receiving insulin) had a reduction of insulin daily dose by 8 units (2-26 units) after finishing the course of pancreas growth factor, thus compensation was reached. The dose of insulin was the same for 6 patients, compensation was reached. At the same time in control group (from 16 patients who received insulin) the dose of insulin for compensation remained the same for 2 patients and was increased by 4-8 units for 14 patients.
4 patients with diabetes types 1 and 2 (3 patients) of the main group who received pancreas growth factor in pills had a daily reduction of insulin dose by 25 units and patients who received peroral antidiabetic medicines reached full compensation with the reduction of dose in 2 times. Thus, application of pancreas growth factor for the patients with diabetes stimulated increase of tissues sensibility to insulin and renewal of pancreas functions.
